Each ring comes from the middle of a maple wood skateboard deck. The rings are sawed out of the middle of the deck, sanded inside and out and finally coated with wood lacquer 2 times, to give you the water resistant ring you need. Yes each ring is made out of wood which makes it convenient enough for it to float in water :)
